La Tierra is a small batch, South African Agave spirit, made from 100% Karoo Agave.
Crafted in the heart of the Karoo, where red earth meets endless skies, every step of our process is carried out with intention. We hand-harvest mature Agave Americana, slow-roast and steam them in brick-lined pits, then double-distil in small batches to capture the true spirit of the land.
La Tierra means the land, a name that grounds us. It’s where the story begins. It’s where the agave grows wild, shaped by sun, drought, and time. It’s also where people come together: around fires, around tables, around something worth sharing.

La Tierra Agave Anejo 750ml
Añejo matures for 15 months in first-fill American oak, developing deep layers of caramel, toasted oak, and dried fruit over an earthy agave base. Rich, complex, and crafted for slow appreciation, it is the pinnacle of our range.
La Tierra Agave Blanco 750ml
Blanco is agave in its purest form. Double distilled and bottled without ageing, it captures the crisp citrus, green pepper, and gentle smokiness that define the Karoo terroir. A bright, refreshing spirit that shows agave at its most vibrant.
LTA Blanco Minis 20 x 40ml
La Tierra Agave Blanco Minis deliver the purest expression of Karoo agave in 20 × 40ml bottles. Crisp citrus, green pepper, and gentle smokiness define its vibrant character, making it perfect for tastings, cocktails, or gifting.
LTA Reposado Minis 20 x 40ml
La Tierra Agave Reposado Minis rest for three months in American oak and are bottled in 20 × 40ml format. Vanilla, caramel, and light smoke balance with agave spice, creating a smooth spirit for tastings, cocktails, or gifting.

Our Distillery
Our micro-distillery, located in Cape Town, creates artisanal spirits infused with nature’s finest ingredients. African Spirit Lab is an experimental micro-distillery situated at the Old Castle Brewery in Woodstock.
A team of scientists setting new standards for craft spirits! Inspired by nature and perfected in the lab, they have created La Tierras proudly South African agave spirit range.
The Agave Experience
At La Tierra we open the door to more than just a drink. In Graaff-Reinet you can join Tim Murray, the Agave King of South Africa, for a Karoo agave farm tour, book us for a private tasting and food pairing where each spirit is matched with South African flavours designed around your guests, or bring our spirits to life at corporate events and celebrations.
